Did you know that Arabic vocabulary is built on a "Root System", usually consisting of three letters? For example, the root K-T-B has to do with writing.
From this one root, you get kitab (book), katib (writer), maktab (desk/office), and maktaba (library). Once you know the root, you can guess the meaning of many related words!
